Skiing in Čičmany – This ski resort can be visited by all categories of skiers, beginners to advanced, and offers excellent skiing in the winter months. An interesting tip for a trip is a tour of the traditional architecture at the open-air museum (skansen) in Čičmany and also visiting the wooden nativity scene in Rajecká Lesná.
Bojnice Castle and ZOO – Bojnice Castle dates back to the 12th century AD and is a national historical monument built in the Neo-Gothic style. You can take a guided tour of the castle. An interesting cultural program throughout the year is offered there. Near the city centre there is an outdoor swimming pool Čajka and a well-known Bojnice ZOO.
Trenčín Castle and the historic town of Trenčín – The dominant feature of Trenčín is the Trenčín castle. The castle hosts weddings and various cultural activities throughout a year. It’s well worth visiting. The town boasts a nice town square with cafeterias, little shops and ice-cream parlors. It has a festive atmosphere during Christmas season when the town square gets decorated with Christmas lights.
Tarzania Trenčín – If you like adrenaline and want to test your physical ability, try Tarzania rope course at the park in Brezina. There are 22 platforms and various rope obstacles in the treetops. They are located at different heights from 5 to 10 meters above the ground. There is also an easier, shorter course available for younger children.
Roman inscription on the Trenčín rock – Roman inscription is from the Roman period (179 AD) when it was carved into the rock below the Trenčín castle. The inscription mentions the early settlement Laugaricio and the winning of Roman soldiers over Germanic tribe of Quadi. The inscription can be seen from Hotel Elizabeth.
Slavnica Aviation Museum – The Slavnica Aviation Museum is located at the airport complex in Slavnica.
Uhliská farm – A large complex in Nemšová, a part of Trenčianska Závada, is a place to spend time with domestic animals in the open air. There is an outdoor riding hall, a fenced yard, a covered hall, a barn with stables, where you can stable your own horse. The more experienced can go horseback riding, for the less adventurous and the youngest children there is an option to take a guided horseback ride on the weekends. On the farm, you can also see hens, ducks, goats, cows and other animals. If you get a taste for homemade regional products during your visit to the farm, you can buy fresh beef in the farm, as well as sausages, pâtés, ham, bacon and other butcher’s specialties.
Vršatec Castle – The ruins of the castle situated on the limestone cliffs of Vršatecké bradly, creating a significant dominance of the White Carpathians above the village of Vršatské Podhradie
Beckov Castle – is a reconstructed castle ruin on a steep, 60 meter high cliff above the village of Beckov. The silhouette is clearly visible from a distance (also directly from the highway). The castle with its grounds is a National Cultural Monument.
Birthplace of Ľudovít Štúr and Alexander Dubček – Uhrovec, a picturesque village under Rokoš hill, became the birthplace of two important personalities of the Slovak nation, Ľudovít Štúr and Alexander Dubček.
Swimming pool Bánovce nad Bebravou – Thermal swimming pool Pažiť with a capacity of 1700 people is located on the outskirts of Bánovce nad Bebravou. The swimming pool has a children’s, relaxation and swimming pool with a length of 50 meters. Children’s pool with a mini water slide is suitable for children under 6 years and has dimensions of 19m x 6m and a depth of 20cm to 50cm and its average temperature is 33 ° C.
